Hello Viking Families!!

My name is Keshia Jefferson and this is my first  year as the Art teacher here at ECM. I was born and raised in Wilson, NC.  I hold my bachelor's  degree in Fine Arts from Greensboro College, along with a Credential in Early Childhood education from Wake Technical  Community College. Although this is my first year as the Art teacher here at Elm City Middle, this is actually my third school  year teaching. In January of 2015, I started my journey as the  Preschool Teacher’s Assistant  at Chesterbrook Academy in Cary, North Carolina,  and within a year I was given the opportunity to showcase my talent  as the Art teacher.  I’m so excited to start a new journey with my new family.

Children have an amazing gift of imagination and creativity.  My job is to make sure that my students artistic talents are nurtured and grow well into adulthood.

I am (and always will be) continuing to grow not only as an artists, but also as a teacher. I am confident I will make a positive difference for my students through consistent classroom management, engaging projects, strong relationships,  effective communication, and innovation.
